Review and optimize your marketing channels

A healthy business should have a breakdown of 75% / 25% when it comes to acquiring new customers. 75% account for acquiring new customers through avenues like word of mouth, your online social media accounts, online platforms for film jobs like Industry Jump, and in general, your overall brand presence. The other 25% should come from direct outreach through your marketing efforts each month. If you’re not at this point, then you’re most likely missing out on some serious growth for your business.

Study up on video marketing techniques and trends

Now more than ever, your clients are going to be looking for ways to bring in the most revenue possible. Like you, they’re hurting for cash, and most small businesses are going to be limiting their marketing efforts for the foreseeable future. This means that you need to have a rock-solid plan of how your videos are going to help them bring in more revenue for their business. Cut the talk about “special lenses” and study up on video marketing tactics to ensure you’re giving them the highest chance to get a return on their investment. If you can master this skill, and consistently show clients how you can get them an ROI, then you'll unlock a whole new level of growth that you’ve never seen before.

Reach out to old clients

This is the best time to reach out to your clients and to let them know that you are there to support them however you can. Try to hold off on the sales pitch here, and be as genuine as possible. Ask them how they are doing, and if there is anything you can do with videos to bring them more revenue. If so, do it for next to nothing, or even free. This is how you not only score major points with your existing clients, but it’s also a way for you to build an even stronger portfolio. Even if you’re only able to re-cut some of their existing videos into social media deliverables, find something that can help them, and make it happen.

Tips: if you’re amazing at filming underwater videos, then you need to start by researching every single company in your area that could benefit from underwater videos, and put together an outreach strategy for each of those businesses.
